Il signore, Dio… invia qualcuno per portare questo dolore lontano. L’ho portato per lontano troppo lungo, e nonostante so che devo portare questa croce, voglio mie forzare lontano da esso per un poco mentre. Invia qualcuno…

Fix You

When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I…

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I…

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

The ‘Simbang Gabi’ I’ll Never Forget

Sunday, December 18th, 2005

Of all the things that could (and have already) happened to me, this one is the most hilarious (or humiliating, whichever you prefer) so far:

While attending the Misa de Gallo with my family and relatives, I decided to take a leak just after the homily. I went to the men’s rest room a few meters away from the chapel. When I got there, I did as all men would do and relieved myself of the usual contents of my bladder. I was halfway through when all of a sudden - three elderly ladies came in, laughing like happy campers, unaware they’ve entered the wrong rest room! sympathetic nerve fibers killed the essence of what I was doing, and soon enough they saw me (good thing I’ve already zipped up my pants!), so now these fine women started screaming and clutching their bags, confused as I am as to why the room they entered suddenly became unisex. After some desperate attempt to calm them down with hand gestures and an anxious smile, I was able to tell them they were in the wrong place, my nervous hands pointing at the urinals on the wall (to prevent them, of course, from bashing my head if they still thought I was the maniac intruder). Realizing their blunder, the three ladies apologized and quickly left me in peace. Gladly, I was able to finish what I started without any other ‘unexpected’ visitors.

Joy to the world…hehe. :P

A Fitting “Dorky” Dorsey Song

Saturday, December 17th, 2005

I wuz on my way home, cruisin’ along the SLEX (just finished the last send-offs right after the class Christmas party at Pansol, Laguna) when this song started to play on the radio. I wanted to turn it off but for some strange reason- I couldn’t.

Gotta heal real soon. This isn’t doing me any good. Merry Christmas everyone.

Crave

by Marc Dorsey

I crave…

I wake up to shadows
Touching your pillow
Looking for a trace of your smile
And that’s when it hit me
You’re no longer with me
In fact it’s been quite a while
Since I sit here drinking coffee as you sipped your tea
And you swore you’d always love and always care for me
And even though there’s no more us to save
It’s you I crave

I crave your touch
I crave your lips
I miss so much
The excitement of your kiss
And since you’re gone
My heart won’t behave
It’s your love that I still crave

It may look like I’m happy
But people who know me
They know that I’m not doing so well
I heard you’ve been dating
And though I’ve been waiting
I had found you and no one else
And just the thought of never waking up with you again
Always turns me inside-out how could we let it end
And even though there’s no more us to save
It’s you I crave

I should have known
I should have seen
‘Cause you were always there
Inside my every dream…

“It’s levi-OH-sah, not leviosa…”

Hmm. This endearment I’m beginning to have for Hermione is kinda disturbing. I dunno why…that Harry Potter movie marathon last night kinda left me fixated on her. The first time I’ve seen the film, I thought she was annoying - boring even. Now I’ve developed this ‘crush’ on her and I don’t like it. Maybe it’ll pass…just like a lot of good things in my life (o-ho…the bitterness just keeps oozin’ outta me).

I made a couple of logos/designs for our med shirt.

Caduceus_final   Ventricles2

The caduceus might look good in front. The other one (I’m not saying what it is…though anatomists probably wouldn’t have a hard time guessing, hehe) is still a prototype for the back design.

Brrr. I didn’t know it could get this chilly come December… (and I’m not even talking about the weather.) Here’s to pathetic losers like me. *salutes*

“searchin’…”

Thursday, December 8th, 2005

I guess it can’t be helped…there are only a few genuine people in my current sphere- a handful of souls who, in my opinion are true friends. To the rest, it’s alright, in my heart I have accepted you guys for who you are…I just know things will never be the same. Yes you will always be buddies, pals…but probably no more than that.

Kailangan ko to ngayon…

A Friend -by Keno

I’ve still been searching
And long have I waited
For someone to like me as me
To laugh with
To cry with
To be just beside with
A friend that’s who I need

To fight with
Make up with
To know that you need them
Believing that they need you, too
To walk hand in hand with
To argue to talk with
A friend that’s who I need

And even though
I make mistakes
And never do anything right
A smile, a hug
Can change all that
And everything will be alright

Someone who’ll share all my dreams and ambitions
Someone who’ll love me as me
I need this person
Someone to rely on
A friend that’s who I need

A friend that’s who I need

The Pizza, The Girl, And The Dumb Boy

Saturday, December 3rd, 2005

Once upon a time, six friends decided to go on a journey. Wanting to test their mettle, they planned to take down four mighty boxes of Yellow Cab pizza, that were accompanied by twenty-four menacing bottles of San Mig Light.

Along the way, they encountered a couple who joined them in their quest. Together, these brave, young (okay, so maybe there’s an exception or two), and vigilant souls triumphed as they wolfed down pizza, after pizza, after pizza, risking life and limb (and atherosclerotic plaques) to finish what they have started. Each warrior survived the perilous battle unscathed.

As the couple bid their farewell, the remaining soldiers decided to go on another quest, this time to rescue a girl in distress. This maiden caught the eye of one of the warriors in their earlier journeys, and he wanted to see her again. However, only five decided to continue, as the sixth warrior wanted to go back to his homeland. He had missed his family, so much so that without hesitation, he rode his steed (a truly  reliable mountain bike) and went on his way.

The band that remained pushed on, fearless and undaunted. They finally came to a place called Paseo de Santa Rosa, where all sorts of folks convened. Here the lad who was part of the group, desperately looked for the girl, but she was nowhere in sight. He soon found out from the barkeep that the lady he was looking for was bound for the Land of the Rising Sun. This troubled the young man. He wanted to see her before she departed. So he summoned an old friend, the dark, wise wizard of Florida to find the girl. After only minutes of searching, in an ancient alley they found her, and with gladness in her eyes she went back with them to Paseo. Here the lad learned that the girl was already betrothed to another man. For a moment, he felt the ground swallow him up. He could not believe his misfortune. "Dumb as a mule, I am", he thought to himself. Gallantly, he accepted this revelation and, being a true gentleman, he wished her happiness in life.

As the night went on, the five warriors celebrated their victory, reminiscing good times and bringing cheer unto each other. At long last, it was time to say goodbye. One by one, the warriors went back to their own kingdoms, and the lad who hitched a ride with the wizard decided to go on, on his own. Yes, he and his brothers were triumphant this day, but he couldn’t understand why the emptiness in his heart lingered on. He knew, as he trodded along the long, dark road from Checkpoint to his humble home in Canlubang (6.5 km), everything he has experienced is just the beginning. His story is yet to unfold.
